Cutting

  • NCHA rules for judging will be followed.
  • All participating owners and riders must be members of the National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA). Please submit a photocopy of all required NCHA membership cards (owner and rider).

  • By signing the entry form all cutting competitors confirm that they possess a current NCHA membership and all non pros confirm that they possess a current NCHA non pro card.
  • A horse may be entered in either or both Open and Non Pro with the same or a different rider in each division.
  • Practise cattle (in the outside practise pens): Fresh cattle will be available Sunday, September 26th at 1:00 PM. Cost is $60 for 5 minutes (minimum 5 minutes) and $12 per minute for every minute thereafter. Used cattle (when available) - cost is $35 for 5 minutes (maximum 5 minutes). Sign up for the practise pen when you arrive in Red Deer. Please have a signed blank cheque payable to the Canadian Supreme to hand to practise pen personnel the first time you enter the practise pen. One practise flag will be available on the grounds, flags will not be permitted in the covered exercise pen.
  • All cutting classes will be supplied with three head of fresh cattle per work.
  • All cutting classes with 2 gos and a finals - only the top 70% will advance to the 2nd go.
  • All cutting finalists will be charged $100 for cattle for the finals.
  • Judges scores of 120 or less will not advance to the next go.
  • Cutting Cross Entries will pay the full office fee and cattle fee for the first class entered and half the office fee and $0 cattle fee for the second class.
