For Immediate Release The Canadian Supreme held September 25 to 30, 2007, is pleased to announce the consignment of one of western entertainments best-kept secrets, Ben Crane. Ben will be performing on the Parkland Pavilion stage in the new Western Lifestyle Marketplace on Friday, September 28 afternoon and Saturday, September 29 afternoon. From deep in the heart of Alberta, Ben Crane has been entertaining across western Canada and the US with his cockeyed brand of humour since 1985. Although he definitely has a face for radio, he has appeared on numerous TV shows, as well as feature spots on CBC radio's Vinyl Cafe and Madly Off In All Directions. A multiple independent recording artist, he is a regular at many western festivals - from the Calgary Stampede to Branson - and a whole lot in between. His blend of both humorous and serious music is decidedly western, with flavours of swing, bluegrass, country, blues and gospel; an all-around mix which seems to give pretty well anybody something to relate to. A top-selling cartoon artist with greeting card giant Leanin' Tree, Ben has skillfully blended his art with his music, showing screen-projected images of his artwork while he performs songs he wrote to accompany them. Even some of the revered cowboy classics have fallen victim to his twisted mind; his cartoon work contorts your brain as it gives words and phrases a whole new meaning to an otherwise harmless song. And it's even safe for the whole family, leaving you with the fresh taste of a unique experience of western life you won't soon forget, try as you may.
