A Tribute to Bill Kehler
It was with great sadness that the Canadian Supreme learned of the death of Bill Kehler on Tuesday June 17, 2003 at the age of 60.
Based in Calgary, Alberta, Bill announced the Canadian Supreme from 1985 – 1995. Bill had a passion for rodeo and horse related events and this was reflected in the enthusiasm and depth of knowledge he brought to the announcing of events such as the Calgary Stampede, Spruce Meadows, the Canadian Finals Rodeo and many of the most prestigious equestrian events in Europe.
He will be sadly missed by his daughters, and all of his extended family. He was a kind, gentle soul and a truly wonderful human being accepting the trials that life brought him with a special grace.
Bill was a member of the Calgary Stampede Hall of Fame, the Spruce Meadows Hall of Fame, the Canadian Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame and was a recipient of the CPRA Contract Act of the Year Award, as well as the Jimmy Brown Memorial Award for rodeo promotion.
In recognition of the 10 years that Bill announced at the Canadian Supreme and in appreciation of the colour and enthusiasm he added to the show we are pleased to announce the induction of Bill Kehler into the Canadian Supreme Hall of Fame in the Builder Category.
